Our History
The name Xakwa is Shangaan, meaning the trunk of an elephant, expressed as Ndlopfu iXakwa. As the trunk of an elephant serves multiple functions for its subject, Xakwa serves its stakeholders and the community within which it operates by unlocking value from its diversified portfolio of investments.
Xakwa Holdings is a proudly African Investment Company, located and domiciled in the Republic of South Africa with its Headquarters located in Pretoria in the province of Gauteng. The company was established in 2007 by MW Mongwe, driven by the idea to establish a diversified investment portfolio, including Mining, Petroleum, Agriculture, and Financial Services sectors.

Our purpose is to establish projects and pursue investment opportunities that deliver consistency and provide stakeholders with sustainable, long-term economic value. We aim to create meaningful impact by fostering growth and building strong, enduring partnerships.
Since its founding in 2007, Xakwa Holdings has developed core business units focused on Mining, Energy, Agriculture, and Financial Services. Each unit is designed to leverage and complement the strengths of the others, driving expansion through organic strategies while creating employment opportunities, developing skilled human capital, and promoting education and training.
